What "one tree" actually means
We partner with the National Forest Foundation. Every order funds a verified tree planted on US national forest land. On average, a tree planted in the Pacific Northwest pulls about 48 lbs of CO₂ per year, every year, for ~30 years. That's roughly the carbon footprint of running an Energy Star 8K BTU unit through a typical NYC summer. It's not a complete offset — it's a reasonable one. We default-recommend higher-efficiency units to close the gap.
